Kindergarten Registration for the 2014-2015 School Year

Eastern School District is pleased to announce that online registration will be available for parents/guardians registering their children for the 2014-15 school year.

Registration will begin for both the English and Early French Immersion Kindergarten programs between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on May 29th and May 30th, 2013 via the District website: www.esdnl.ca. 

These times will be for those registering for both English Kindergarten and Early French Immersion Kindergarten.

 

Early French Immersion Kindergarten registration takes place on

first-come basis and applications will be dated and time-stamped upon submission of the online application form.

 

Children must be five years of age on or before December 31, 2014 to be registered. At the time of registration, an MCP number must be provided for each child registered. Upon completion of the online form, parents/guardians will be provided a confirmation which will include their registration date and time and which must be brought to the school at a later date, along with the family’s proof of address.

You will need the following in order to complete an online application:

• An MCP number including expiration date;

• An email address in order to receive confirmation of receipt of your application;

• Phone contact number and an emergency contact phone number; and,

• Any internet-ready device.

To complete the registration process proof of address must be provided in person at the designated school on or before June 14, 2013. 

"Online Kindergarten registration is an initiative Eastern School District has been working toward for some time and we are pleased to offer this service for the 2014-15 Kindergarten class," said Dr. Bruce Vey, CEO/Director of Education for Eastern School District. "Our school communities have indicated that this is a process they would like to see and we look forward to successful implementation of online Kindergarten registration throughout the District."

Children must be registered for their zoned school and further information regarding catchment areas is available on the Eastern School District website or by calling 758-2372. Any parent/guardian who may be unable to complete an online registration process is asked to contact the zoned school for assistance on or before May 27, 2013.
Information sessions regarding Early French Immersion Kindergarten registration will take place for the Portugal Cove-St. Philips/Paradise and Conception Bay South areas on May 14th at Beachy Cove Elementary, and for the Torbay/St. John’s East and Centre areas on May 21 at District Conference Centre, 40 Strawberry Marsh Road. Both sessions begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be facilitated by Eastern School District staff.
