Information for Parents

Information shared by the City of St. John's that may be of interest to parents: 

1. From Inclusive Services 
Did You Know: If a child was born in 2004 or later and the family has ever been eligible of the National Child Benefit Supplement as part of the Canada Child Tax Benefit, known as the "family allowance", they could receive up to a maximum of $2000 in a Canada Learning Bond with no parent contribution required? 

Help us get the word out! If you know of a family who may qualify, visit www.smartsaver.org to help them apply! 


2. From Children's Services 
There are still spaces available in this NEW upcoming course offered by the City of St. John's Recreation Division. 

My Safe Life: Personal Safety for Kids 
This interactive two-session course benefits 7 to 9 year olds who are too young or not ready to stay home alone. Topics include people safety, 
'tricky people', the rights of the child, internet safety, fire safety, travel safety, injury prevention and basic first aid.
