Lauda

LAUDA

Shallaway Youth Choir’s Newest Ensemble

One of the core tenets of Shallaway Youth Choir is “to help develop community-minded choristers as global citizens and leaders for the future in and for Newfoundland and Labrador.” In collaboration with Memorial University, Shallaway Youth Choir is excited to announce our newest ensemble.

Lauda will offer an enriching musical experience to a wider and more diverse student population in a safe, neurodiverse environment that fosters acceptance and respect through reciprocal learning.

What is the choral environment of Lauda?Comprising new students and existing Shallaway choristers, choir rehearsals will be shorter with varied musical and movement opportunities. The rehearsals will have frequent breaks and widely varied activities. With a high ratio of musical and social support, including music therapists and choral music specialists, this environment fosters conditions that celebrate the strengths of a neurodiverse group of children while providing the supports needed to engage all choristers for optimal learning and sharing.
